Why do I have a webcam?

I never use it, it just sits there on the shelf next to my monitor forever off.

I just really don't like to turn it on and have the world able to stare at me. I keep thinking that maybe someday I will turn it on.... I have used it to take snap shots of the kids for some of my relatives though so I guess that is worth the effort of buying it and hooking it up....
