It's political again...

WTF Geraldine Ferraro! I've got a couple of words for you, DUCK TAPE! Ok, I know some folks probably don't know what I'm talking about so I'll just quote this bigoted woman.

"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position, and if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

And she says this in an attempt to say that the media is being unfair because they are sexist. Well Geraldine hun, I think you need to spend some time with a mirror because what you said IMO is racist. You're pulling the he's getting special treatment because he's black card and I find that offensive and insulting.

I think Obama would be where he is at now if he were fuchsia. I think most of his voters do not see color, they see a great man. I say this because I know someone who supports him and voted for him that happens to be one of the most racial bigots I know, my brother. He's as white southern red neck as you can get and he's adamant about wanting Obama for president because he feels that Obama will make this country better.

I'm sure Ms. Ferraro would be just peachy though if everyone were caught up in the concept of having the first woman president. Which is why she is whining about this in the first place, they aren't. They aren't because this isn't supposed to be about gender or race... at least that is what we were told by both campaigns right.

I'd be real happy if all the pundits would STFU. A lot of crap that has been made a big deal out of in this election season has been pundits assuming something and blowing it out of proportion.

And Obama needs to stop reacting to what Clinton says and just change the subject, she's in charge of what everyone is talking about right now and he's letting her be. For instance this whole dream ticket thing, which I'm still saying is the way it is going to have to be because of the numbers, instead of saying he's not running for VP he should have said, "it's good to know that you want to be my VP Hilliary. I'll keep that in mind." That might have shut her up.

And again, that is what needs to happen, they need to be on that ticket together for the party's sake.

edit to add:
Oh and my prediction for the outcome of the Florida and Michigan re-do...

Hilliary takes Florida and Obama takes Michigan. No, I don't think she'll win Michigan if his name is on the ballot. Obama will still have the most delegates but everyone will have their vote counted.

Quoth Ms. Ferraro:
"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position, and if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."

I actually agree with Geraldine here- but with different reasoning. If Obama were a reasonably attactive, charismatic white male, he wouldn't be in this position. He'd already be the presumptive nominee. That this country has put aside its racial and gender biases to the degree it already has says something about where our nation is- or perhaps to what depths the current administration has driven it that they're being overcome.

Yeah, I can't say I don't agree. It's sad but true.
